First Friday Photography Venues for 2014-06-06

Here’s a list of Lancaster City venues that I believe will be showing some photographs this First Friday, June 6th:

The Ware Center, Millersville University Lancaster

First Friday at the Ware Center
Art – Expanded Visions Art Exhibit – Regitz Gallery (6/6-6/30) EXPANDED VISIONS is a juried exhibition that embraces all forms of photogaphy from the traditional darkroom to the digital image. Any form of photography is eligable for submission (film, digital, alternative process, toy camera, collage, montage, mixed media, etc.)
Music – Tony Miceli – Lyet Lobby (6 to 8 pm) Vibraphonist Tony Miceli, whose playing has been compared with the legendary Milt Jackson and Gary Burton, performs on first Friday at the Ware Center.
Art – Linda McClusky Benton – Lyet Lobby (6/6-6/30) Linda is a member of local art groups and a teacher of experimental water media, collage, abstract design, cold wax & oil, and encaustic. Linda is also a signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, and Baltimore Watercolor Society, plus she earned her nautilus membership in the International Society of Experimental Artists.

Selected Artwork From the BFA Program at PCA&D: This exhibit features outstanding artwork created by our rising junior and senior BFA students. A wide variety of media will be represented including digital and hand drawn illustration, painting, printmaking, photography and graphic design.

Parrot Gallery
328 W. Orange Street
6 – 9 PM
Shifting Perspectives – A Retrospective: The exhibit includes photo collages created from original photographs and discarded postcards, along with Polaroid transfers, and mixed media by Ruth Ann Meyers Kulp. Some works and found objects are paired with original poetry.

FusionArt: Wowzer Rooms hosts Stephen Gambone as he combines precisely cut comics or printed paper of both past and present along with painting on functional furniture and housewares. First time exhibits by large format artist Elizabeth Joy and oil painter Aron Johnston. Other work from Stephen Cimini, Jaye Crist, Lori Lee, Lourdes Torres-Shepard, Loryn Spangler-Jones, Spindle & Spire, Dutch Shaw, Ted Rasmussen, Leslie Scott & Kenny Kidd.
