First Friday Photography Venues for 2014-04-04

Here’s a list of Lancaster City venues that I believe will be showing some photographs this First Friday, April 4th:

West End Mennonite Fellowship
20 N. Charlotte Street
6 – 9 PM
Sons and Daughters: Photography display featuring people and the streets of Brazil by Kate Saurman. There will be live music and a slideshow presentation at 7 p.m. Kate will share personal stories from her experience working with Shores of Grace, an organization in Brazil that focuses on rescuing and restoring victims of human trafficking, homelessness and abuse.

ArchiTexture: ArchiTexture: first solo exhibit by our very own Lori Lee! Multiple other artists on exhibit as well, including Jay Crist, Ben Deluca, Stephen Gambone, Loryn Spangler-Jones, Lourdes Torres-Shepard, Spindle & Spire, Kenny Kidd, Charlie Barton and Gabriella Pistyur.

Call for Photographs for Expanded Visions 2014

Lancaster Camera Club members and friends,

Here is the prospectus and entry form for this year’s Expanded Visions Exhibition. The show is at Millersville University’s Ware Center again this year. Photojournalist Richard Hertzler will be selecting the awards. The deadline for submissions is May 8th, 2014.

First Friday Photography Venues for 2014-03-07

Here’s a list of Lancaster City venues that I believe will be showing some photographs this First Friday, March 7th:

Lancaster Museum of Art
135 N. Lime Street
5 – 8 PM (awards ceremony held at 6 PM)
Lancaster County Young Artists Exhibition: Lancaster County Young Artists is a regional competition that is open to any student attending school in a participating district or home schooled. Hundreds of works winning Gold, Silver and Exhibition awards in a dozen categories will be on display.

Demuth Museum
120 E. King Street
5 – 8 PM
Scholastics exhibition: Scholastics is the first level of a national art competition. Exceptional works of art are submitted by students to be judged first at the regional level here in Lancaster, with winning works moving on to the national competition. Works winning Gold Keys, Silver Keys and Honorable Mention will be on display in this exhibition.

Photography by Renard: Cycling photographs depicting the ‘artistic’ essence of the sport of bicycling.

Common Knowledge, Common Ignorance and One Passion: Opposing walls of conspiracy paintings expressing our common unconscious sociology and a public interactive write-on ‘blog wall’ and Four Hands, Two Artists and One Passion. Photography is also usually on display.
